In order to avoid or remedy any miscarriage complication, make sure that you consult a doctor if you notice any of the following symptoms.

  • Incomplete miscarriage. A miscarriage is said to be incomplete if a tissue remains in your uterus from your pregnancy. Most of the times, the condition resolves on its own; however, in case it doesn't then you may have to undergo a procedure known as D and C.
  • Excessive bleeding. If you soak your menstrual pad within an hour, then you need to seek medical attention immediately. Some women tend to suffer hemorrhaging as a side-effect of miscarriage.
  • Infection. A post-miscarriage infection can prove dangerous, but can be easily treated with the help of antibiotics. However, if you feel that the infection is getting severe, then contact a doctor immediately. In case you are suffering from an infection, you may have symptoms like fever, foul-smelling vaginal discharge, cramping, and vaginal bleeding. Infections can be a serious problem and require immediate medical attention.
  • Depression.

One of the post miscarriage complications is feeling sad or low. It can affect your health severely if it is not dealt at the right time and in the right way. If you are unable to cope with the loss, then seeking the help of a medical counselor may prove effective. There are some women who may end up blaming themselves and some may even have feelings of anger.
  • Anxiety disorders. More than depression, anxiety and stress are the main complications after a miscarriage. Too much stress can lead to post traumatic stress disorder.
  • Recurrent miscarriages. Some women may face recurrent miscarriages after undergoing one. If you are facing frequent miscarriages (more than once or twice), it is a good idea to seek the help of a doctor in order to know the possible causes.
  • Asherman's syndrome. This is a very rare side-effect that a D&C can cause. This syndrome causes scarring and adhesions in the uterus that can lead to fertility problems and further miscarriages in the long-run.
  • Support of spouse and near and dear ones will help you sail through the rough patch and give you the courage to give it a second chance
