With the onset of the twenty-fourth week you may realize you have only sixteen weeks remaining to your pregnancy. By this time your baby will have become longer and more proportionate. Your baby will be approximately 23 cm long and will weigh anywhere around 600 grams. The organ systems within your baby continue towards maturation during this sixth month of pregnancy. The central nervous system, digestive, reproductive and her circulatory systems are being constantly developed by this time.

Pregnancy week 24 will make your baby respiratory system much stronger, the lungs start creating small branches and the baby’s body starts producing amniotic fluid. This occurs since the placenta produces large amounts of hormones which may lead insulin resistance.

Women will experience heartburn during this phase of their pregnancy. Many women worry about weight gain, however it is very important to focus on your baby’s health. It is quite normal to undergo a whole range of emotions ad feelings during these times; you can blame it on the raging hormones. It is preferable to be aware and prepared for the events which are going to take place with you.
