Pregnancy Week 2 Symptoms

Conception occurs within 24 hours of ovulation and if you are trying to conceive you will want to know what the earliest signs could be. These are listed below.

•    A missed period is usually the number one sign that you are pregnant. If your cycle is regular and you are late it would be a good idea to take a home pregnancy test to find out.

•    As clichéd as it sounds, food cravings are sometimes another sign. You may find yourself craving for foods you generally abhor or even going off foods you love.

•    Implantation bleeding or cramping generally takes place about eight days after ovulation. You might notice spotting around the time your period is expected. Cramping could occur as well. The spotting will be slight pink or brown in color.

•    You may experience frequent, mild headaches. These are caused by increased blood circulation which is the result of hormonal changes.

•    Frequent urination is yet another sign. This is very common during the first trimester due to the swelling of the uterus over the bladder.

•    Your breasts will become swollen and tender to the touch. They will feel fuller and heavier. The areolas will darken due to hormonal changes.

•    You may notice that you have a heightened sense of smell as well.

•    Mood swings are very common too.  You may be unusually weepy and emotional.

•    Faintness and dizziness are also early pregnancy symptoms. This is due to a drop in blood pressure and your blood vessels dilating. Low blood sugar is another reason for this.

•    Morning sickness is another sign. This could occur at any time, day or night. It could be without the actual vomiting as well. Many women experience this two weeks after conception.

•    You may find yourself feeling very tired, even after a trip to the grocery store. Fatigue is not unusual in early pregnancy and you might feel that your energy levels have dropped a great deal.

•    Constipation is another symptom. This is due to the increase in progesterone which causes the food to pass slowly through the intestines.

•    A higher basal body temperature which is your oral temperature will be another indication. If you have been charting your temperature you will notice that it is higher due to the progesterone.

Do remember however, that some women may experience the above pregnancy symptoms early on in pregnancy, others may not at all.
