Most women tend to get worried when they notice any form or type of discharge during pregnancy. At times, discharge is absolutely normal, caused by factors like hormonal changes and increased blood flow to the vaginal area, which is not cause for concern. However, at times, vaginal bleeding during pregnancy could also be an indication of a serious problem, like an infection or even miscarriage. Yellow brown discharge during pregnancy

There are many women who experience yellow brown discharge during pregnancy. In case this is evident during early pregnancy, it could either be a symptom of miscarriage, or it could point towards the presence of the verruca virus.

However, if the same thing happens towards the end of the first trimester, it could mean that the body is getting rid of the old blood, which is quite a normal thing. During the second and the third trimester, yellowish brown discharge can occur after a woman engages in sexual intercourse or goes through a vaginal sonogram, as the cervix becomes very sensitive.

White brown discharge during pregnancy

The presence of clear white discharge during pregnancy is quite normal. However, if there are traces of brown in it, then it is best to consult a doctor.

Red brown discharge during pregnancy

The presence of reddish brown, or pinkish brown discharge during pregnancy could be an indication of pregnancy bleeding, which is a major cause for concern, as it could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy or a miscarriage. In the last trimester, this could also be a sign of preterm labor.

Green brown discharge during pregnancy

The presence of brown green discharge during pregnancy can be an indication of a disease, an infection or cervical polyps, which could be a major cause of concern, regardless of which trimester it occurs in. At times it may even be likely for a woman to experience other accompanying symptoms, like a foul smell, burning sensation while urinating or itchiness. In case any of these are evident, it is absolutely essential to have a doctor check it immediately.

At times, it is also possible to experience black brown discharge during pregnancy, which again could be the indication of a problem. All instances of vaginal discharge should be investigated by a doctor, even if it is yellow brown discharge during pregnancy.
