Development of Belly at Sixth Week of Pregnancy

Motherhood is the most happy and blissful time of a woman’s life. It’s a great feeling a woman can ever experience. You are now in your sixth week of pregnancy half of the first trimester of pregnancy. Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters each consisting of three months. The first trimester is very crucial as the baby is forming its organs at this point of time. The baby’s development during the first trimester is probably faster than any other trimesters. Whatever doubts you had of you being pregnant or not would have been cleared by the sixth week of pregnancy. During pregnancy week six there you will notice a small bump in your tummy area.

It will not be all that noticeable if you are on the plump side; however if you are thin than you would be able to make out the difference of your tummy shape. For other people it would still take time for them to notice that you are pregnant. Usually your tummy is only visible at the end of the third month or rather at the end of the first trimester.


The nose, mouth, and ears that the main developments of the baby during the sixth week of pregnancy also  his intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. Your baby’s heart beat at this time is about 100 to 160 times a minute, roughly twice the rate of an adult heart beat.

During the sixth week of pregnancy you may experience morning sickness, tiredness, fatigue, vomiting sensations, abdominal cramps or pains, pelvic discomfort and so on. It is important to have proper nutritious food during this time so that your baby to develops healthy. As the baby develops most of its organ during the first trimester of pregnancy it is important for you to take appropriate care of yourself. Do not try and carry anything heavy or stress yourself during pregnancy. Take complete rest and even go for morning walks or even evening walks as this would help you feel refreshed. The baby is only quarter of an inch long at this stage. It should be noted that all babies do not develop at the same pace and development is different depending on various factors like genetics, the mother’s nutritional intake, and the mother’s stress levels. At this point you will start to notice that you are putting on a little weight. You will also experience food craving during this time of pregnancy.
