  • Eating peanuts or peanut products like peanut butter can cause wheezing in your baby.
  • Eating nuts during pregnancy can cause indigestion and constipation, adversely affecting your health as well as that of your baby.
  • Since nuts contain a large amount of proteins, it can cause several types of complications in pregnancy.
  • Different types of fatty acids present in nuts may cause obesity which is the most undesirable condition during pregnancy, especially since it could lead to complications at the time of delivery. Hence, you must avoid consuming nuts during your pregnancy.
  • Eating nuts when pregnant may lead to an increase in cholesterol and blood sugar levels. This can lead to major complications during pregnancy.

Due to this most health care specialists advise refraining from eating nuts or food that is prepared using nuts for the duration of your pregnancy.

You may hear the experiences of your friends or colleagues regarding their consumption of a lot of nuts during their pregnancies without any side effects. This may tempt you to eat them; however, you are advised to consult your doctor before doing so.
