Human beings are complex creatures capable of controlling most of their body functions voluntarily. There are two ways in which the human body gets rid of waste from the system. One is through urination and the other through defecation. Adults are able to plan or understand when they are likely to need to defecate or urinate and are able to plan their day accordingly. system effectively. Potty training at a young age is important and so potty training concepts are important to understand the best methods to teach a child to use the toilet correctly. For children, learning to control their urine and bowel movements is an important part of behavioral conditioning. Once the child has crossed the age of two the body begins to be able to manage this better and better. Some children are able to understand their potty requirements better than others. Children begin to understand their need to go to the toilet and may show this need in the form of any behavior that is seeking attention.

There are few potty training concepts that need to be followed by parents who wish to be successful at training their children. The first concept is that of patience. Patience is important in this process and parents who avoid anger and scolding are likely to have better results. That being said, a child who is purposely having potty training accidents should be dealt with sternly. The second important potty training concept is that of imitation and repetition. A child is likely to try and imitate the parent or any role model. When potty training is conducted, it may be wise to conduct it together with a parent. The child may mimic the actions of the parent and training a child in this method is easy. The third potty training concept is how to deal with an accident. Children who are successfully potty trained may have accidents, especially in the first few months after training is complete. This can cause considerable embarrassment to the child and the parent but the child should not be discouraged and a repeat potty training exercise should be conducted. It is easy to show displeasure without being angry or aggressive and this method is likely to have the best results with the child.
