Earliest Pregnancy Symptoms

Pregnancy in human being is the nine month period that begins with the successful implantation of a fertilized egg in a woman’s uterus and ends with the successful delivery of a new born baby. During this process a miscarriage or an abortion will end the pregnancy. Many couples wish to have children and they look for signs of pregnancy which can help them determine whether their efforts have been successful. The natural method of fertilization is through sexual intercourse. When this happens, semen is deposited in the woman’s reproductive tract. This semen passes up the tract into the fallopian tubes. If it interacts with a mature egg, there is a chance that one or more sperm will impregnate the egg. A single sperm will usually lead to a single child being born. Once this process of fertilization takes place, the egg will pass into the uterus where the thickened uterus wall makes for a comfortable place to implant itself. A woman is considered to be pregnant only after successful implantation has occurred. It is possible for a fertilized egg to fail to implant itself as well.

The early pregnancy symptoms are useful for a woman to figure out if she is pregnant or not. The most obvious and common symptom of pregnancy is the missing of a period. Ovulation usually happens around the 14th day of a woman’s 28 day menstrual cycle. The days of this cycle are counted from the first day of menstruation. If implantation happens around the 20th day of the cycle, the missing period will be obvious within a few days from there. A period is considered to be missed only if it does not take place within 10 days of its normal date.

First time mothers may experience more sensitivity in their bodies once they are pregnant. The breasts tend to be sensitive after a woman becomes pregnant. This is a clue for couples who are trying to conceive because they may continue with sexual activity until there is a confirmed pregnancy. Other pregnancy symptoms include nausea, vomiting, constipation and frequent urination. Frequent urination is likely to occur earlier than the other symptoms because of the expanding uterus. The uterus expands in anticipation of the growing fetus. This expansion puts pressure on the bladder causing it to be less capable of holding urine. When any of these symptoms are recorded, the woman should take a pregnancy test in order to confirm the condition.
