Having a baby is most of the time a premeditated decision which requires a degree of planning. Unplanned pregnancies can bring about a lot of mixed feelings. Initially it might come as a shock but then slowly you will be able to think clearly and be able to decide what is best for the baby and for yourself. It might take a while for both of you to understand the magnitude of it but slowly you will be able to discover the joys of the beautiful nine months you have to bring your baby into the world. Make sure that you change your diet to a healthy one so that your baby is able to get the nourishment it requires. So shift your diet to include a lot of vegetables and fruits, when you include meat make sure that it is lean meat so that you do not put on extra weight. Drink a lot of water and juices so that you stay hydrated all the time. It might take you a week or so for it to really sink in that you are going to have a baby soon. So be careful not to exert yourself too much and get a lot of rest. This would be a good time to confide in your friends and family about the fears and doubts that you might have. You could also ask your doctor to recommend a few per-natal classes that will help you to understand the course of your pregnancy and how you should take care of yourself better so that you will have a healthy baby. Don't worry about the future but concentrate on what you can do for the baby and enjoy the feeling of being a mother.
