  • You must restrict excessive intake of salt in your diet. You must cut back on the intake of processed or canned foods which are high in salt content for the purpose of preservation.
  • You should avoid heavy meals, especially for dinner. Heavy meals give you a feeling of fullness, thereby enhancing discomfort wile sleeping.
  • You must eat frequent small meals during pregnancy. This protects you from nausea and vomiting, thereby relieving discomfort and insomnia.
  • You must refrain from smoking and the consumption of alcohol while you are pregnant as these aggravate the problem of sleeplessness in pregnancy.
  • You must refrain from consuming a lot of fluids during late afternoons and at night. Instead, try to consume more liquids in the mornings.
  • You must consult your doctor if the problem of insomnia isn't ameliorated by these remedies. It is essential for the health of the mother and baby that the mother gets proper rest and sleep during her pregnancy.
