Did you have different pregnancy signs for 1st and 2nd pregnancies?

Conception occurs when the sperm makes contact with the egg and fertilizes the egg. The sperm and egg join in the fallopian tube to form a zygote which later develops into an embryo and a fetus. When the sperm meets the egg it travels through the fallopian tube down to the uterus, once there it clings onto the walls of the uterus and tries to implant itself into the uterine wall. This process is referred to implantation and only if fertilization of the egg is followed by implantation then pregnancy occurs.  Pregnancy is a normal natural process. Therefore naturally there will be a number of body changes if you are pregnant. Pregnancy is counted from the first day of the woman’s last period. Pregnancy can be divided into three trimesters. Every woman has individual pregnancy symptoms which are displayed at various times.

Symptoms of pregnancy vary from woman to woman and also from pregnancy to pregnancy for the same woman. The common symptoms for the first trimester or early stages are nausea and vomiting, breast tenderness and urinating often where the breasts become swollen and tender where the area around the nipples gets darker. The other symptoms are constipation, heartburn, fatigue headaches and mood swings. However a woman may feel all these symptoms in her pregnancy and none of these in her second or vice versa. Some feel exactly the same symptoms for all pregnancies and there are others who got through their pregnancies without feeling any different.

Another sign of pregnancy is implantation bleeding or vaginal bleeding. Implantation usually occurs five to nine days after conception. This happens when the egg that has already been fertilized attaches itself to the lining of the uterus. This bleeding is usually earlier than your period and it is spottier and lighter in color than a normal period and the duration is not that long either. A missed period is another sure sign of pregnancy. Morning sickness is another classic symptom of pregnancy which can start as early as two weeks after conception. Another symptom is heightened sense of smell, where some foods perfume or cigarette smell can cause waves of nausea in early pregnancy especially. Food cravings or food aversions are another sign of pregnancy. Mood swings and constipation are also experienced in the early stages. Another is faintness and dizziness which occur when your blood vessels dilate and blood pressure drops thus making you feel lightheaded and dizzy. Another is raised basal temperature. There aren’t any specific numbers of days for the signs of pregnancy to show, the signs can start at any time after conception.
