Breastfeeding is one of the most important ways of taking care of your baby. Remember that your child is indirectly consuming whatever you eat, so it is best to stick to a well balanced and nutritious diet so that your baby can benefit from it. There are certain foods to avoid while breastfeeding as a baby tends to react if you have not eaten the right type of foods. If you are wondering just what foods to avoid while breastfeeding, keep in mind that if your baby reacts to a particular food, you should try avoiding it in the future. These foods tend to affect the baby in negative ways and symptoms that your baby is reacting to a particular food include your baby having gas, abdominal bloating, and colic and so on.

Here are some foods to avoid while breastfeeding. Spicy foods tend to change the flavor of the milk. Too much spicy food should be avoided as babies tend to develop gas or become fussy after the mother has eaten spicy food and breastfed. Other foods to avoid while breastfeeding include processed or carbonated foods, burgers, chips, noodles, coffee and carbonated drinking water. Gassy foods to avoid while breastfeeding are cabbage, Brussels sprouts, prunes, cucumbers, and broccoli.
