Increase the quantity of vegetables and fruits in your child’s diet, as these foods are rich in fiber. Unpeeled, raw vegetables and fruits such as corn on the cob, peaches, nectarines, tomatoes, turnip greens, peas, sweet potatoes, beans and spinach are all excellent sources of fiber. Prunes, legumes such as kidney beans, black beans and baked beans, figs, dates, raisins, and whole grain cereals and bread can also be fed to the child. Another excellent choice would be vegetable soup, as not only is it rich in fiber, but it will also contribute to their fluid intake.
