Signs Of Pregnancy - Discharge

The most common and assured signs that you are pregnant is when you have missed your period for a particular month and if the pregnancy test that you took at home shows positive. This is the result of the hormone hCG that is present in the urine, however, this hormone can be detected in the urine much later and till then you may not know that you are pregnant. Certain signs before these can help you know that you have conceived and a white discharge is one of these signs that you may have observed on your underwear after you have visited the toilet or while wiping yourself after you have urinated. You need to know that the body of every woman is different and thus the signs and symptoms of pregnancy experienced from woman to woman will obviously not be the same. Hence, there is no need to worry if you do not get any of these symptoms. Pregnancy discharge occurs because of the number of changes in hormones that take place within the body wherein the estrogen levels rise and also because there is an increase in the flow of blood to the vagina. The discharge can be seen as clear mucous based or is whitish in color that may also smell slightly but does not cause any discomfort or irritation. If you notice the amount of white discharge on a regular basis during your periods, you will have no difficulty in identifying an increase in the vaginal discharge and is probably an indicator that you are pregnant.

Sometimes, it may even look like slight stains and this will happen especially if it appears during the time you would be getting your menstrual cycle and is pinkish brown in color but is nothing to get worried about. As long as the discharge does not smell and does not give you a burning sensation or an itchy feeling, it could be one of your signs of pregnancy. However, if you do notice any of these symptoms, you need to contact your doctor immediately as it could be due to an infection or a sexually transmitted disease. Vaginal discharge is also referred to as the mucous plug wherein it protects the opening of the cervix in order to protect your baby from any infections throughout pregnancy. However, keep a look out for other signs of pregnancy as well like tender breasts, feeling of nausea, fatigue and so on.
